The Rothschild’s is one of the most endangered distinct populations of giraffe, with 1669 individuals estimated in the wild in 2016.
Seeing the family of 40 with 10 juveniles must be a good sign for recovery, at least in this area.
The pictures I took will go to the conservancy for computerized tagging — the patterns are like fingerprints — each one distinct.
