My skin is white
But my shadow is black
What do I make of that?
Inside I am red, white, blue
Muscle, bone, sinew
Blood, fresh and used
Flowing through
Artery, vein, vessel.
My skin is a vessel,
A container for my soul.
Benji asks,
What color is the soul?
I don’t know about his,
My soul is a cuttlefish,
Blends with surrounding sea
My soul is unique,
Green and pink
Water and sky,
Coral and rock,
Shifting, ever shifting.
I am wary of surroundings,
Careful with my friends.
My soul becomes the color
Of the places where I am.
