And the Tree Speaks
And the tree speaks,
“Come sit in my shade
Climb my branches
Walk beneath me
Feel time as I do”
And the wind whispers,
Always moving
Never hurried,
“Come, Learn from me”
And the earth says,
“Remove your shoes
Feel the grass and loam
Between your toes
The place you stand is holy
From me you came
To me you shall return
Learn to feel
Joy — not fear
Of temporality”
And the sun says,
“Feel my warmth
See by my light
Light that sustains all life
You cannot live apart from me
Remember
Like all things powerful
Too much of me and you burn
Too little and you wither”
