Member-only story
I have a sense
There is no beginning or end.
“We are perpetually situated in the middle of a series of events, each a link in an endless chain of causation.”
How else can you describe
A place too diverse and beautiful
To know?
Like the blind man
And the elephant
He touches part
A trunk,
A toe,
And imagines he understands the whole,
So it is with my home.
I see vast beauty,
But only in part.
I feel
Only that which I have felt.
I touch only that which I have touched.
I know only what I know.
But I embrace the not-yet-known
Kiss the mystery.
Among the best laid plans
Of mice and men,
Africa wins.
The place controls
The pace, music, rhythm
Two steps forward, one back
A dance
